About This Project

My name is Helen Chung; I’m one of the event organizers for The Dude Hates Cancer, an annual Big-Lebowski-themed charity bowling tournament for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. If not for the pandemic, 2020 would’ve been our 15th anniversary event in Philly. Since inception, TDHC has raised over $829,000.

As a volunteer-run event, there’s no way we could’ve raised that amount without the support of our local business community, in particular, our amazing Philly restaurants and bars. They’ve hosted our events, donated our prizes, even participated in tournaments – creatively and enthusiastically committing time and money for the cause – year after year.

They’ve always been there for us, and now, it’s our turn to help them out. Many of our favorite bars, restaurants, and industry friends are struggling right now. I am personally sewing and “selling” these custom face masks to try to help. You choose a fabric, specify the size, and I will happily make & deliver a personalized face mask to you in exchange for your donation. Money raised will go towards various GoFundMe relief funds that have already been set up, or directly to owners and staff as a tip fund.

I’m donating 100% of my time, materials and supplies for this project. Your entire purchase gets paid forward to support these local restaurants and bars! Payment can be conveniently made via Venmo or PayPal. Email me your order and I will deliver a simple, custom face mask – made with love!
